Computational tools map Plasmodium population genomics and recurrence inference

The dominant thread is computational infrastructure for interpreting Plasmodium genomic variation at the population level. Pv3Rs, an R package, performs statistical genetic inference of P. vivax recurrence states (relapse, recrudescence, reinfection) from length-polymorphic markers. Malaria-GENOMAP, a web tool, integrates Plasmodium variant allele frequencies with geographic maps and offers chromosome-to-gene views for exploring population variation. Both move analysis from raw variant data to interpretable outputs, one addressing recurrence classification and the other spatial exploration. The eLife study on PfEMP1 is an experimental functional system for a P. falciparum virulence factor, and its summary does not describe computational methods, so it does not share this thread. What is new is the application of computational analysis to parasite population data after sequencing.
