The common thread is grounding LLM reasoning in curated biomedical resources, either through retrieval or agentic access, and evaluating the results against those resources. GenomAgent coordinates specialized agents over genomics databases and reports a 12% average gain over GeneGPT. RAGulate uses CollecTRI and PubMed evidence to assess transcription factor-target predictions in context, while BTE-RAG retrieves from a federated API of over sixty biomedical knowledge sources. MedHopper pairs agentic RAG with a bounded state machine and reranking, scoring 0.55 EM on MedHopQA, a disease-centred multi-hop benchmark. SciHorizon-GENE contributes a gene-centric benchmark of over 540K questions drawn from curated databases. What is new is agentic, multi-step access to curated resources. I-NOWJ, a narrower Spanish clinical NER study, is included only as a related knowledge-guided approach. Reported gains are study-specific and not directly comparable.
