Joint multiomic profiling links regulatory layers to gene expression within samples
The common thread is joint measurement of several molecular layers within one sample or dataset, rather than any single data type. PARTAGE profiles copy number variation, replication timing, and gene expression from the same sample. A single-nucleus atlas of the human left ventricle pairs snRNA and snATAC profiles to map gene regulatory network dynamics across cardiac development, aging, and cardiomyopathy loci. Both studies tie genomic or regulatory state to transcriptional output. The primate embryoid body study addresses a related problem, showing that marker genes transfer imperfectly across orthologous cell types in human, orangutan, cynomolgus, and rhesus iPSC-derived models. The pig telomere-to-telomere haplotype-resolved assembly is a separate genomic resource and does not share this thread. What is new is integrated treatment of several layers in one dataset, rather than separate single-modality analyses.
