Molecular profiling defines disease-associated signatures in neurodegenerative conditions
The dominant thread is large-scale molecular profiling used to define disease-associated signatures in neurodegenerative conditions. PanNDA integrates 2,279 brain proteomes across six neurodegenerative diseases, reporting disease subtypes and shared protein signatures as a cross-disease proteomic framework. The Friedreich ataxia meta-analysis aggregates 23 bulk RNA-seq datasets across 10 cell types, nominating MYH14, MEG9, and MEG8 as cell type-specific biomarkers and releasing an interactive atlas. TransComp-R addresses a different question, translatability, linking mouse transcriptomes to human late-onset Alzheimer's disease and screening repurposable sleep-cycle drugs, with suvorexant tested. Only PanNDA is a published proteomic study; the two others are preprints, and the shared element is signature-based stratification rather than a common mechanism.
