Analytical limits on feasibility and stability of diverse consumer-resource communities
The dominant thread is the conditions under which diverse species assemblages persist at feasible, stable, and functionally robust states. A preprint on generalized Lotka-Volterra random networks with degree-dependent interaction strengths identifies hub-favored and hub-suppressed phases that shape species viability. A second preprint analyzes the microbial consumer-resource model with cross-feeding, characterizing persistence, feasibility and stability through a slow-fast approximation. A published study reports that eco-evolutionary dynamics produce functionally robust and redundant microbial communities even as taxonomic presence and abundances fluctuate. What is new is analytical characterization of when diverse communities remain feasible and stable, alongside evidence that functional robustness can persist under compositional variability. The model classes and methods differ, so the shared element is a framing rather than a single mechanism.

Eco-evolutionary dynamics lead to functionally robust and redundant communities.
Microbial communities are taxonomically diverse and variable: species presence and abundances widely fluctuate over time, space, and even across biological repl
