Absolute yeast proteomes link subcellular protein allocation to growth rate

The common thread is the use of quantitative proteomics to read out how protein composition is organized, although the three items operate at different scales. The yeast compilation of 300 absolute proteomes is the most directly subcellular study: machine learning and formula fitting connect protein allocation across compartments to growth rate and physiology. DIFFRACT applies local fractal dimension to protein-protein interaction networks, combined with quantitative proteomics, to detect functional reorganization. The organ-specific proteomic aging clocks for eight mouse organs are the most distant from the compartment theme, though they share the aim of extracting organ-dependent signals from proteomic data and are applied to RNA and spatial transcriptomes. What is new here is absolute quantitation at scale in yeast and a network-geometry readout of functional reorganization.
